Salma Hayek‘s billionaire husband Francois-Henri Pinault has been revealed as the father of Linda Evangelista‘s son.
The news means Pinault is father to Evangelista’s four-year-old Augustin James, and Hayek’s four-year-old daughter Valentina.
Evangelista, 46, yesterday attended the Manhattan magistrates court in a bid to reach a support arrangement with Pinault, the Chief Executive Officer of luxury brands firm PPR, which owns Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, among others.
It is believed to have been her third or fourth visit to the Family Court, according to the New York Post, meaning the case is now likely to go to a fall support trial.
As she left the court in New York yesterday, Evangelista hid her eyes behind a huge pair of sunglasses and refused to comment to waiting reporters.
Pinault was absent from court, apparently due to a misunderstanding, according to his lawyer David Aronson.
Aronson told the Post: ‘We had understood that it was to be a brief, telephone conference, to bring Magistrate Troy up to date on what the status was.’
The revelation comes after years of Evangelista remaining guarded over the paternity of her son.
When the supermodel’s representatives were approached by the New York Post back in 2007, they denied claims that Pinault, who also has two children from his first marriage, was the father of Augustin.
Evangelista also said in various interviews that Augustin’s father was a ‘New York architect’.
The Post claims Evangelista and Pinault conceived Augustin in early 2006, during a period when Hayek and Pinault were not dating.
Pinault and Hayek married on Valentine’s Day in 2009.
William Beslow, Evangelista’s lawyer, had no comment when contacted.
