Calvin Klein is launching the new fragrance for women Downtown which arrives in selective stores in July and in the USA in September. President of Coty Prestige Jean Mortier said the following on the occasion of launching the new perfume: “Calvin Klein is our largest perfume business and is very important for us. Our goal is to create another fragrance for women in a strategic way and to make it as popular as Euphoria or even more popular that it.”

Downtown aims at a younger population which prefers sweet fragrances. The perfume is constructed as floral-woody and it was created by perfumer Ann Gottlieb of Givaudan. The composition opens in a foamy and dashy way, with notes of Italian lemon, bergamot, Tunisian neroli, green pear and aquatic plum. The heart incorporates gentle gardenia petals combined with pink pepper and violet leaves on a base of cedar from Texas, incense, vetiver and velvety musk.

Downtown arrives in four sizes of flacons:  0.33 oz. roller ball for $19, 1 oz. for $45, 1.7 oz. for $65 and 3.0 oz. for $80, and will be available as EDP. Besides the perfume, the collection also includes 6.7 oz. body lotion at the price of $43; 6.7 oz. body bath for $38, and 5 oz. body mist-body fragrance for  $27, as announced by wwd.

Actress Rooney Mara was selected as the face of the campaign, which will include TV clips directed by David Fincher who work with Rooney  in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network and a photo campaign photographed by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. shot in New York City, the short film tells the story of a confident young woman (played by Mara)  breaking out and living her own life, soundtracked by the New York City art-pop  band Yeah Yeah Yeahs’s “Runaway”.

Ingredients

Directions

It’s official: Jack’s back! Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly announced on a conference call Monday that the network is bringing back action series 24, with Kiefer Sutherland reprising his role as CTU agent Jack Bauer.

24: Live Another Day, which will likely premiere in May 2014 and run through the summer, according to Reilly, is being promoted as an event series and will consist of 12 episodes rather than the traditional 24.   “It will go in chronological order of the day, but it’ll skip hours,” Reilly told reporters.

When asked whether the new version could eventually morph into a full-fledged series, Reilly demurred. “It could be an annual event,” he said. “There could be sequels. I don’t know that they would be yearly.”

Since 24 went off the air in May 2010, showrunner Howard Gordon (Homeland) has been mulling a movie based on the series, which never got off the ground. “As they got into the feature film, I think they all agreed 24 being compressed into two hours is not 24,” Reilly said.

Aside from Sutherland reprising his role as Jack Bauer, no other casting announcements have been made.

“The response to 24 is unlike anything I have ever experienced as an actor before,” Sutherland said in a statement. “To have the chance to reunite with the character, Jack Bauer, is like finding a lost friend. The story ideas from Howard Gordon are exciting and fresh, and will not disappoint … Make no mistake, my goal is to knock your socks off.”

Howard Gordon added: “Jack Bauer has always been an exciting, thrilling character, and I confess that I’ve missed him. I think the audience has too. The character has evolved through the years, and this new and exciting event series format is perfect to tell the next chapter of his story and continue to reflect how the world is changing. Fans can rest assured that the Jack they know and love will be back.”

24, which was created by Joel Surnow and Bob Cochran, ran for eight seasons from 2001-2010. The show picked up 73 Emmy nods over eight seasons, winning the award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Sutherland was nominated for seven Emmys, also winning one for Outstanding Lead Actor – Drama Series in 2006.

1. Sometimes I do an hour jumping rope, and you can easily burn 1000 calories per session.”

7. Flaxseed oil is her secret weapon. “If you want your hair to grow faster, you can take flaxseed oil or a flaxseed pill just ask your doctor. Its great! It will make your hair super shiny and its going to grow fast.”

8. Chill out on washing your hair. “If you have dry hair, dont wash everyday. And if you have very, very dry hair wash once a week! The oils help your hair look better, but it also depends on activity if you sweat a lot every day of course you should wash more often or use dry shampoo. But you have to do whats good for your hair.”

9. Brazilian Blowouts are a lifesaver. (Disclaimer: Hey, she’s Brazilian!) “One thing I would suggest if you have curly or dry hair that made my hair very healthy is the Brazilian blow dry. Ingredients

5 egg yolks

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

Grated zest of 2 lemons

6 tablespoons (3/4 stick) unsalted butter

Preparation

1. In a heavy saucepan, combine the egg yolks and sugar and whisk vigorously for 1 minute. Add the lemon juice and zest and whisk for 1 minute more. Set the pan over low heat and cook gently, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened, 10 to 15 minutes.

2. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the butter until consistency is smooth. Lay a sheet of plastic wrap directly on the surface of the curd to avoid a skin from forming; wrap tightly. Let cool; refrigerate until firm and chilled, at least 1 hour.

STEPS:

1. Select a good turquoise polish. I used this one, but to be honest you can use any color that you think goes well with gold. (It’s really pretty with white + coral!)

2. Paint all of your nails with the base color you choose.

3. Gold leaf sheets (I used these) are VERY delicate so make sure your hands are clean + dry before handling. They tear so easily! Use scissors to cut small triangle shapes that will fit the corners of your nails. You want to cover about 1/3 of your nail, so make your triangles about that size.

4.Wet a q-tip and use that to pick up your gold triangle. Don’t try to pick them up with your fingers– you’ll crumble them and that’s a bummer!

5. Lay the gold leaf triangle on the corner of the nail. You want to work quickly so the leafing sticks to the polish. The polish should be dry but still slightly tacky. If it’s too dry, put a very thin layer of clear top coat down before laying the leaf on the nail.

6. Smooth over the gold leaf with a clean dry q-tip to remove wrinkles/bubbles. If you mess up and chip off a piece of gold, it’s totally fine! Gold leafing is so thin that you can just lay another piece over the messed up part and it blends right in.

7. Use a nail file to gently file off the excess just like you would with nail stickers!

3 cups cake flour sifted

2  1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1  3/4 cups granulated sugar

2/3 cup butter or margarine

2 eggs

1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

1  1/4 cups milk

About 12 standard cupcakes. Each cupcake serves 1.

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of two 8-inch round cake pans and line with waxed paper or parchment paper. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; set aside. Cream sugar and butter together until light. Add eggs and vanilla to creamed mixture and beat until thoroughly mixed. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Continue beating one minute. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan on rack; remove and cool completely before decorating.
